Terms and Conditions

When you (the hirer) book a bus, a party or event with us (the service provider of Adventure Bus Dorset) you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.

Please read these terms carefully.

Terms & Conditions

These terms are an agreement (“agreement”) between you and Adventure bus Dorset about your use of our service.

1.1 When you (the hirer) decide to book with us (the service provider of Adventure bus Dorset), a minimum of £50 (non-refundable) deposit will be required to confirm and hold the agreed date and time slot. We will require the remaining full payment, in cleared funds, at least 14 working days prior to your event.
If full payment is not received by this time then Adventure bus Dorset reserve the right to offer your date and time slot to another customer. Your deposit will not be refunded. You (the hirer) are obliged to obtain written permission from Adventure Bus Dorset to cancel this agreement.

1.2. Any cancellation request must be received at least 14 working days before the agreed booking date. Any refunds returned to you will exclude the £50 deposit. In the event of any cancellation, whatever the cause, Adventure Bus Dorset is only liable for the costs of the bus and will not be held responsible for any other costs.

1.3. Adventure Bus Dorset accepts payment by bank transfer or cash. Contact us and ask for details.

1.4. A mileage surcharge of £3 per mile will be added if Adventure Bus Dorset travels outside of a 5 miles radius starting from BH12 4AS.

1.5. Private hire is available as an Under 18’s activity and as such we can have a maximum of 15 people (under 5’s are not included in this total). Adults/guests over 11 years old will be expected to follow social distancing measures in the building and may only sit in their individual families/bubbles.*

1.6. During the current global pandemic guests over the age of 11 (who are not medically exempt) must wear face masks whilst entering and moving around The Factory building and The Bakery Studio.

1.7. A ‘lead member’ of the group (usually the person booking the event) must provide us with their own contact details to enable NHS Track and Trace measures to be implemented if necessary. The lead member is responsible for ensuring they have their group details, should they be required to contact them at a later date. The information we require is: – Name of lead member; -Number of people in group; – Contact phone number.

*Meeting in larger groups

There are exceptions where people can continue to gather indoors, or in groups larger then 6 outdoors, including:

  • as part of a single household or support bubble,
  • in a childcare bubble (for the purpose of childcare only),
  • for work, or providing voluntary or charitable services, including in other people’s homes (see guidance on working safely in other people’s homes),
  • for registered childcare, education or training – meaning education related to a formal curriculum, or training that relates to work or obtaining work,
  • for supervised activities provided for children, and those who were under 18 on 31 August 2020, including wraparound care (before and after school childcare), children’s groups and activities for under -18s, and children’s playgroups for parent and toddler groups – up to a maximum of 15 people (under -5s do not count towards this limit). Hirer responsibility

2.1. It is the full responsibility of the parent/guardian/the hirer to provide the care, supervision and safety of their child for the duration of all activities inside and outside the bus. The parent/guardian of minors are reminded that they are solely responsible for any accidents that occur or any damage to clothing which is caused by playing on the bus. In no way will Adventure Bus Dorset, The Factory and The Bakery Studio be liable for any injuries or damage caused during all activities inside and outside the bus. Our Insurance requires a minimum of two responsible adults from the party/event to supervise children on the bus at all times.

2.2. Children must understand that a normal conduct of behaviour must be present while on and outside the bus and they must not inflict harm/injury on another child or act in a manner which may affect another child’s experience during a party or event.

2.3. Should poor behaviour /misconduct arise, the organization reserves the right to give a gentle reminder first and then decide, in the case that the behaviour persists, to ask the child to leave the bus and therefore would not be allowed to return on the bus.

2.4. All children must play in a way that is respectful of the needs of other children.

2.5. The hirer will be responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle by any member of the hirer’s group.

2.6. The hirer will also be responsible for any damage caused to the interior or exterior of the vehicle as a result of any behaviour that puts safety of others at risk.​

2.7. You (the hirer) are to ensure that all members of your party/event leave the vehicle promptly at the end of your allocated time slot.

General

3.1. All activities are non-competitive and are centred on the enjoyment of each child.​

3.2 Adventure Bus Dorset, The Factory and The Bakery Studio do not take responsibility for any inconvenience,  loss, damage, injury or death arising from accident, breakdown or delay attributable to factors beyond the control of the owner.​

3.3. Members of the hirer’s group should make themselves responsible for their own property. We will not be held responsible for any valuables or other items belonging to members of the group.

Vehicle access

4.1. Adventure Bus Dorset is a double decker bus measuring:

4.8 meter (15.75 feet) tall

9.4 meter (30.84 feet) long

2.5 meter (8.2 feet) wide.

Please take this into consideration when booking.

​4.2 We cannot be held responsible for damage to the surfaces at the property due to weight of our vehicle.  please be aware that our bus requires a turning circle space. It is the hirer’s responsibility to provide adequate and safe parking for the entire booking.

​4.3. We will require five parking spaces for the bus. Therefore we recommend you make appropriate parking space arrangements.

​4.4.  If we are unable to gain access to your chosen location and an alternative cannot be found due to circumstances we were not informed of prior to arrival, then a refund will not be available. We may, however, in some circumstances, be able to offer an alternative date and time.

​4.5.  Consideration must be given:

  1. to low bridges less than 5 meters (16.5 feet),
  2. overhanging bushes and trees, parked vehicles or any obstruction preventing access for the bus.
  3. weight limits and width of hard road surfaces.

Parking fines and notices

5.1. Any parking permissions that are required for your chosen location must be organised prior to our arrival. Adventure Bus Dorset will not be responsible for any parking fines and tickets received at your chosen destination and any such fines received will be the responsibility of you the hirer. It is in the interest of both parties to avoid wheel clamping, for example.​

5.2. Adventure bus Dorset cannot park in any location that causes an obstruction or reduces access particularly for emergency service vehicles.

Power requirements

6.1. The bus may need an electrical outlet depending on weather and the time of day. We will ask you for the use of a 240v power socket at your chosen location (this is a standard house 3 pin plug). We will run an extension lead. The cost of the electrify used is very small and is to be met by the hirer.

6.2. If power is not available at your chosen location we can supply a generator. You must tell us in advance, an additional charge will apply. The bus is still very good entertainment for children without power however some of the features will not work.

Break-downs

7.1. If on a rare occasion, we are unable to attend your event due to sudden mechanical failure, we will notify you as soon as we are aware of any problem. If it is impossible to get to you on your chosen day, we will offer you a full refund. We will also offer mutually agreeable alternative dates and times.

Highway restrictions & poor weather

8.1. We cannot be responsible for delay in reaching your chosen destination due to road-works, traffic incidents and extreme weather conditions. These are beyond our control. We will endeavour to keep you informed if this happens. We will make up for the lost time and will leave later so that you have the agreed time for your event.

Statement of intent

9.1. Adventure Bus Dorset  is committed to ensure everyone involved during the time of hire can look back with pleasure on an enjoyable and problem free-party. We welcome and encourage your comments and suggestions before, during and after the event. We will always try to improve your experience based on your constructive feedback!
